Welcome to the First "Keene Kid" Blog for the Future 2011/2012 "Keene Kids" and Families

Welcome to the Room 20 Blog! I am so excited to start my first blog of the 2011-2012 school year! Yep, I know it's still "technically" summer, but I'm having so much fun getting this blog going that I don't mind working already! I can't wait to add all sorts of new great links and features to this site, and I hope everyone enjoys this space!

This site will be "THE SPOT" to come for all types of information and updates on what's happening in Room 20. Check back frequently to see what we're learning as the "Keene Kids" explore an amazing education journey for 2011-2012. :)

Combined with our other "CLASS blog" - this year's students will have the chance to connect to the world and learn in a whole new way! I mean, think about how truly amazing it is to have the ability for students in one part of the world to reach across the globe and talk to other students about subjects and cultures! It takes the idea of "pen pals" (virtually knows as "e-pals") to a whole new level. I can't wait to watch my students expand their minds and experiences via this phenomenal "teaching tool." TECHNOLOGY ROCKS!

This site is still a "work in progress," so please be patient as I upload new tools and links. I'm sure many students (and parents/grandparents) will be learning how to blog for the first time, so just think of this as a wonderful group learning experience. Remember - we're all in this together! Feel free to share suggestions on how to improve either one of our blogs. With so much information out there, I always love to here about great educational sites that you may come across on your online adventures.

Be sure to check back in late July when I should have more updates for the upcoming school year.

Enjoy the rest of your summer!

Mrs. Keene

P.S.  I sure hope you're all remembering to read some fun summer books, and remembering to practice those math facts. Flash cards are an easy way to pass some time during those road/plane trips! :)
