First Day Update!

Dear Parents/Grandparents/Guardians,


I just wanted to send out a quick post to tell you how much I absolutely loved getting to meet everyone today! I can already tell that this new class of "Keene Kids" is going to be AMAZING. They are a collective bundle of energy and I know it is going to be a joy to get to know them better. We're going to have an AWESOME year ahead!

Starting school on our "Early Out" schedule (combined with our new hours) made the first day of school a bit more hectic than usual, so we weren't able to get in as many of my favorite "Getting to Know You" activities before the bell rang. As a result, we were mostly "all business" today - having to focus on new routines and procedures. Tomorrow and Friday will be filled with a lot more opportunities for the classmates to get to know each other. I can't wait.

Please remember to check your child's agenda and sign or initial it at the bottom of the page for August 11th. AIMS results, as well as a note from the office, and August cafeteria menu went home with each student tonight (New students to Harelson did not get this information since they weren't here last year).

Thank you so much for all your support and generous donations. I am so fortunate to have such a fabulous bunch of parents/grandparents/guardians (and students)!

P.S. A quick reminder: Our new school hours are 8:25am - 2:55pm. The playground opens before school at 8:05am, but students should not be on the playground prior to 8:05, unless accompanied by his/her parent or guardian.
